Wild & Garden Botanicals: Botanical Art workshop

Join award-winning botanical artist Shevaun Doherty for two inspiring days of botanical watercolour painting at Bantry House.

Wild & Garden Botanicals celebrates the rich variety of flowers found both within the formal gardens and beyond their boundaries, from elegant, cultivated blooms to the wildflowers and naturalised “garden escapees” that flourish in hedgerows.

Working from fresh seasonal plants, you will learn how to observe and paint flowers with accuracy and confidence. Through step-by-step demonstrations and individual guidance, we will explore botanical drawing, colour mixing, and watercolour techniques, including transparent washes, glazing, and layering to capture the subtle colours, forms, and luminous light of summer flowers.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment in which to develop botanical painting skills while enjoying one of Ireland’s most beautiful historic gardens.
