Nature artist Sue Van Coppenhagen shows a whole range of techniques including painting, printing, and exploring the properties of wax, water and paint. The art materials used are easily found at home or from a local arts and crafts shop/online.

Creative Adventures with Leaves and Paint was developed as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2021
Children and young people joining this online journey of discovery in nature art start by collecting leaves from plants and trees nearby. They are led through an exploration of shape and form, examining textures and details, and how to interpret them in imaginative, creative ways.
A series of three linked sessions with recorded video tutorials. A journey for each age range: 5 – 8 years, 9-12 years and 13+.

There are three journey stages with videos and written instructions.
Each journey has activities selected for that age range. We recommend that an adult or older child helps younger children, especially with one wonderfully messy activity!
Participants can view the online videos at times to suit them, and review the videos as often as wanted. Step by step instruction sheets for each age range are included and can be viewed onscreen or downloaded and printed.
