Going to the Mountains

A walk with readings
Ellen Hutchins loved landscape, especially mountains and wrote eloquently about them in her letters. Come with us to experience a wonderful place and gain an understanding of Ellen’s connection to nature. We will walk through woodland and other habitats on Esk mountain with information on them given by the custodian of Esk Mountain, Kloe Wood and the reading of extracts from Ellen’s letters to fellow botanist, Dawson Turner, by Karen Minihan, actor /theatre director /writer. Context will be provided by Finola Finlay of Roaringwater Journal.

Optional Add-on: 12 noon to 1:30pm. Stay for a special two-course fireside lunch celebrating wild August flavours freshly foraged on Esk Mountain
