Elizabeth Lawson is a naturalist, writer and lecturer specializing in horticulture and natural history. A resident of New York, Elizabeth is a former president of the American Primrose Society and her books include Primrose in Reaktion’s ‘Botanical’ series (2019).
Elizabeth Lawson made contact with the Festival some years ago asking for images to illustrate Ellen’s story. She emailed recently to say that Ellen has a place of honour in the book and other female bryologists covered include Irishwoman, Matilda Knowles.
We are delighted that Elizabeth Lawson will be giving a talk at the 2025 Ellen Hutchins Festival (16th to 24th August) which will cover both Ellen and Matilda.
